What can I do when BF06 doesn't fit? Is it possible that BF06 doesn't fit?
If BF06 really doesn't fit, then you missed an important security recall from BMW for R1200 motorcycles from circa 2004-2007. The filler cap was exchanged on those motorcycles. The old filler cap was not screwed but just clicked in. This filler cap easily broke and parts of it could fall into the tank.
Either you get a new filler cap from your BMW dealer or you use BF07: Install instruction Tankbag Mounting BF07
