BMW R1200GS LC (2016) conversion by Hornig

When we created our conversion of a R1200GS LC 2016, we wanted to increase the security of and the protection for the driver as well as of the motorcycle itself. A first step was to replace the original horn by our Nautilus horn (139 dB). This horn can be mounted to the motorcycle very fast and easily by means of our mounting kit which can be purchased separately. Moreover, we equipped our motorcycle with crash bars for the engine and the fairing parts in order to protect those parts in the case of tilting over. As a protection for the cardan we installed our cardan crash protector. Our especially designed oil filler plug with emblem avoids the theft of the oil filler plug and a possible contamination of the engine oil by the fact that it can only be opened by means of a Allen or Torque key. With our cooler protection and our air intake grids we prevent dirt, stones and insects from damaging or smutching the cooler and the air filter. In addition, our mudguard for the rear wheel, which we painted red, and our number plate deflector hold water, dirt and stones off the motorcycle and the driver respectively the passenger. Our mirror extensions increase the distance between the mirrors which leads to a better view to the back and to the traffic behind. Our side stand foot enlargement in combination with the corresponding heightening part enables a safe position of the motorcycle on all terrains and also facilitates the lifting of the R1200GS LC. Thus, you need far less power to haul up the motorcycle into a vertical position again when it is parked on the side stand which enormously increases the driver's comfort. Furthermore, our GPS mounting, which includes the proper mounting kit for the R1200GS LC, increases the driving comfort by positioning the navigation system in a way that the driver always has a good view onto the GPS device . In order to facilitate the braking and the shifting process, we installed our brake pedal enlarger and our shift lever extension and replaced the original brake and clutch levers on the handlebar by Magura fold away levers . For ensuring a high driving comfort on longer tours and in order to offer perfect protection against wind for the driver, we installed a ZTechnik V-Stream windscreen and air deflectors that are mounted behind the original hand protectors of the R1200GS LC. Being on longer tours, you also need enough space for luggage in order to feel comfortable. Therefore, we mounted a GIVI top case (58 or 42 litres) and GIVI side cases (37 or 48 litres). In addition, we installed our handlebar bag, our auxiliary bag below the luggage rack and the fixation ring for a tank bag with 20 litres capacity. In order to reach a more comfortable sitting position, we mounted our handlebar risers. The most important factor for a pleasant driving experience is, of course, a comfortable seat. Therefore, we modified the original seat of the R1200GS LC and, in addition, designed it in a way that it fits to the red colour of the motorcycle which gives a more individual look to the bike. Also the Magura reservoir covers and different anodized aluminium parts, like our rear wheel center cover, our covers for the suspension mounting, our frame covers for the engine mounting, our swing arm pivot covers, our rear frame covers, our frame cover left and our fork tube covers contribute to the visual individuality of our R1200GS LC conversion. A final highlight of our conversion is the Remus HexaCone Titan which on the one hand looks really good, but on the other hand also improves the power of the motorcycle.
