R12 G/S, BMW Motorrad introduces a classic enduro that performs equally well off-road and on asphalt. The model designation is inspired by the legendary R 80 G/S and stands for versatility in both off-road and road use.
Design and Ergonomics: Homage to an IconVisually, the R 12 G/S builds on the legacy of its predecessor while combining it with modern technology. Its robust construction, long suspension travel, and cross-spoked wheels make the motorcycle a true off-road specialist. Three different seat options, slip-resistant enduro footpegs, and a handlebar riser ensure ergonomic adaptation to various riding styles and body sizes.
Powerful Boxer Engine with Optimized PerformanceAt the heart of the R 12 G/S lies an air/oil-cooled boxer engine with 1,170 cc displacement, delivering 109 horsepower at 7,000 rpm. With a maximum torque of 115 Nm at 6,500 rpm, the engine provides powerful responsiveness in diverse riding situations. The single-sided exhaust system with a high-mounted silencer emphasizes the classic enduro look.
Technical Features for Maximum ControlBMW equips the R 12 G/S with standard riding modes: "Rain," "Road," and "Enduro," each tailored to specific surfaces. For those seeking even greater off-road performance, the optional "Enduro Pro" mode is available. Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) adds extra stability, while the Engine Brake Control (EBC) prevents unwanted rear wheel locking.
For a dynamic riding experience, the optional Shift Assistant Pro enables cluchless shifting. A one-piece steel tubular frame combined with an optimized steering head design offers maximum control and agility in off-road conditions.
Optimal Suspension Tuning for Off-Road AdventuresThe R 12 G/S is equipped with a 21-inch front wheel, ensuring optimal off-road capabilities. The rear wheel comes standard as a 17-inch, with an optional 18-inch rear wheel available for enhanced off-road performance. The fully adjustable upside-down telescopic fork with 210 mm travel at the front and the Paralever swing arm with a directly linked rear shock absorber provide ample reserves for demanding terrains.
State-of-the-Art Safety and LightingThe braking system with ABS Pro ensures safe deceleration even in corners. Up front, two floating 2-piston calipers with 310 mm brake discs provide reliable braking, while a 265 mm single-disc brake is installed at the rear.
Standard LED technology ensures optimal visibility, with the optional adaptive cornering light "Headlight Pro" available. A classic round instrument and a 12-volt socket in the cockpit underscore the motorcycle’s functional character.
