Jingle Bells by Hornig with BMW motorcycles - played with different motorcycle horns In order to sweeten the pre-Christmas period for you, we came up with something very special again and converted four of our BMW motorcycles into music instruments. After several more or less successful practices the famous Jingle Bells song could finally be recorded.
The four motorcycles that were used for the record are our R1200RT LC (2014), our R1200GS LC (2013), our R1100R scrambler conversion and our S1000RR (2015). Both the R1200RT LC and the R1200GS LC are equipped with a Nautilus horn, type Wolo Bad Boy. This horn with compressor produces two tones at the same time wherefore it can reach a very high volume level. Due to the R1200RT LC having more fairing parts than the R1200GS LC, the horn sounds a little bit different on the two motorcycles. Our R1100R scrambler conversion is endowed with a Magnum Wolo horn. This is a one-tone-horn and, again, it generates another sound than the two Nautilus horns mentioned before. Our S1000RR still has its original BMW horn, so that our quartet of different horn sounds was finally complete.

The new BMW G 310 R - The first BMW roadster under 500 cc With its latest motorcycle model, the G 310 R, BMW Motorrad takes a step into a new capacity segment and thus transfers the well-known premium quality of its high-class motorcycles to the low capacity segment with a maximum of 500cc. The premium motorcycle manufacturer's brand-new innovation has the typical characteristics of a BMW Roadster. It is the ideal vehicle for rides in a city, but can also be perfectly used for highway trips and has an innovative, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine which promises powerful dynamic with 25 kW (34 HP) and a low empty weight of only 158,5 kg. With the G 310 R it is no problem to go on longer trips since its fuel consumption is very low and its innovative design enables a comfortable sitting position for relaxed travels. Conceived for the global market, the G 310 R tolerates various fuel qualities and is compatible with worldwide emission requirements. It disposes of a very powerful brake system with standard ABS and convinces due to its dynamic and flexible riding fun and its sophisticated multifunctional instrument cluster. The optic of the G 310 R is another highlight of the Roadster: the similarity to the BMW sports machine S 1000 R suggests its agile and dynamic character at first glance.

The experimental vehicle BMW eRR - Super-sport dynamism with zero emission With its experimental vehicle eRR BMW Motorrad presents its idea of what a super-sport motorcycle, which is purely electrically powered, could look like. The development of this promising concept was made in cooperation with the Technical University of Munich. BMW has already successfully extended its research and development with regard to the electric mobility of cars (BMW i3 and i8) and scooters (BMW C evolution) within the last few years. Now the company also intensifies its efforts in the motorcycle field and transfers the concept of the electric engine to the segment of super-sport motorcycles. In terms of design and chassis technology the eRR is very similar to BMW’s super-sport motorcycle S1000RR. However, the eRR is powered only by electricity. The announcement of technical details by BMW Motorrad will be made at a later time.
